Brisbane

13.-19.03.2015 and 31.03.-01.04.2015

I spent quite a long time in Brisbane, because I had to organize many things, especially the visa run to New Zealand.

My hosts , Suzie and Keith, were awesome . I met them in 2013 in Laos, at the 4000islands, one day before crossing the border to Cambodia. we had a short and funny conversation and exchanged our business cards. For a longer time we did not hear anything from each other. When I arrived in Australia Suzie contacted me and invited me to stay at their home. we had a terrific time together and lot of fun ! thank you very much friends for your great hospitality !!!

from left to right: Helen, Keith and Suzie and Michael.Michael worked for a German company and has a book from the author Wilhelm Busch , who wrote those stories about Max and Moritz http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Max_and_Moritz. I grew up with these books and it was a big surprise to find it in Australia again :-)

the bike lanes are very good, but fact is, Aussie car drivers do not like cyclists :-(

houses are so different to Germany and Europe. no bricks, only wood, few insulation.. and if you want to move the house, you can do it in the way below... or you can move the whole house from one destination to the other !

when I left Brisbane,I accidently met Alex and Steph from "tandem down under " at an intersection . yes, Brissi seems to be very small ;-)

great meeting with Heather and Lindsay :-) they are hosts from "warmshowers.org" and are living only 1km far away from Suzie´s and Keith´s home. and they have a beautiful "Volkswagen Bully"
